Donate to TACF's 2013 Spring Appeal!
The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF) is at an exciting time in its history, with the Restoration Chestnut 1.0 in the ground and new seed and breeding orchards being planted throughout the eastern United States. Looking ahead, TACF is preparing to implement a Restoration Plan, which calls for thousands of plantings of Restoration Chestnuts 1.0 in forests across the native range.
This means we could experience forests filled with thriving stands of healthy, wild American chestnut trees in our lifetimes.
With more than 60,000 chestnut trees planted at our Meadowview Research Farms, another 120,000 chestnuts managed by our chapter volunteers, and new orchards coming online monthly, TACF relies on your annual giving to support ongoing efforts.
Your support is vital to us and will help us achieve our mission - to restore the American chestnut tree to our eastern woodlands for the benefit of our environment, our wildlife, and our society.
Your gift today will help us achieve our mission by providing for:
- Materials and equipment for TACF’s breeding program at Meadowview Research Farms
- Critically needed supplies for the Glenn C. Price Laboratory to continue ongoing research
- Regional science support for our 16 state chapters
- Research to develop trees resistant to ink disease, devastating to chestnut, especially in the South
